We have lots of great birds in the top of the Texas Hill Country, and at Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast, we have birdwatchers stay with us often. Right beside the Oak Cottage is a screech owl nesting box, they have been coming to it every year for 14 years now. It is so fun to watch them come and go. We and our family with adjoining property, have put up Blue Bird houses, and they are nesting in them also. We did have a small Green heron on the goldfish pond the other morning, snacking on some of the minnows. If you love to bird, you would enjoy the Canoe package we offer that takes you on the Pecan Bayou where you will see lots of birds and other wildlife. I think most watchers just enjoy sitting on their porches and watching what all comes in to feed or in the nearby trees.
