Spring into the Texas Hill Country

Spring in the Texas hill countrySpring is right around the corner and that means one of the most beautiful and inspiring times of the year when everything comes to new life.  With the recent rain we were blessed with, I am already seeing fresh green peeking out from under the fallen leaves.  With Spring comes many great opportunities for experiencing nature and what better place than in the Texas Hill country.

We are located in the Northern Hill country, so we usually have the joy of so many birds showing up.  If you love to bird watch, we have feeders on our property or we can send you on some great day trips to bird watch nearby.

Or, maybe you prefer to hit the Texas Wine trails, well, we have those great Texas wineries nearby also and they love serving our guest their finest made wines.

How about a little water activity, we are just 2 miles from beautiful Lake Brownwood or you can kayak the Pecan Bayou, lots of history on that old body of water.  With the lake becoming active again, we just have to tell you, that it’s a must to get the “Best Dam”, burger at the Wild Duck Marine and enjoy the lake right there at table side.

Or maybe history is your love, we have several very interesting museums in the area and a wonderful Geneaology Library to look up family. Check in on the mini trains at the Lehnis Train Museum or read up on the history of Camp Bowie stationed here during the war.

What ever you are wanting to do, or not do like relax in a private hot tub, we can offer those things to you here at Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast.  And don’t forget, we serve you a gourmet breakfast each morning to your private cottage, yep, we are a true bed & breakfast.

Check us out and come see what Brownwood, located in the Center of Texas has for a fun getaway for you to experience.
