Fall is such a lovely time in Texas when the leaves start falling, the night air is crisp and cool. It is also a great time for a getaway here in the Texas Hill country.
Our Wildrose Retreat cabin is the perfect getaway spot for a romantic weekend. This precious little house sits on a hillside by itself away from any other buildings. When you first drive up, you may think it is a little chapel with it’s very tall roof line. But this cute cottage opens up to a wonderful experience. It was built in 1908 and was in Brownwood, it was going to be torn down when we found it. We purchased it, moved it and remodeled it for a peaceful getaway.
With a spacious sitting area, dining nook, and kitchenette it has plenty of room to relax and play a board game or cuddle up and read a book. The bathroom has a 70 gallon soaking tub surrounded with mirrors on 2 sides. The sweet little vanity is a favorite of our eloping brides to ready themselves for their wedding. Up a stairway, which Don calls the “Stairway to Heaven”, is the queen bed.
You have a nice private porch with a sitting area and you step off into your own hot tub to enjoy a nice soak and gaze into a star filled sky. The deer nestle down just off the porch for their nights stay, so you will usually see them in the morning as you awake.
We deliver your hot breakfast in a basket each morning and leave on the porch and let you know it has arrived with a knock on the door and a good morning wake up.
Privacy is very important to us, so we do not enter your room unless you need us or we have made arrangements to deliver one of the add on packages that you have selected.
